Weekend Manager
Barleylands Farm Shop has been part of the Billericay community for over 25 years. We are independent, family-run, and proud of it. Fresh fruit and veg, great fresh produce, and a huge range of bargain groceries that save our customers real money every week. We are the kind of place people drive past the supermarket to get to, and we have been for over two decades.
We are looking for a Weekend Manager to take full ownership of the shop on Saturdays and Sundays. You would be the most senior person in the building on those days and everything runs through you.
The job in practice looks like this. You keep the shop floor full, faced and looking its best throughout the day. You look after the team on shift, making sure everyone knows what they are doing and the standard stays high from start to finish. You handle customer queries, deal with wholesale enquiries and get orders into the system. You liaise with delivery drivers and make sure everything coming in is dealt with properly. You make sure nothing gets missed and the shop closes correctly at the end of the day.
What we are really looking for is someone who takes pride in the place like it is their own. Someone who walks in on a Saturday morning, sees what needs doing and just gets on with it. The kind of person who hands over a shop at 5pm that looks better than when they arrived, without anyone having to ask.
If that sounds like you, you probably also have some experience in retail or hospitality, you are comfortable leading a small team, you stay calm when things get busy and you are based locally around Billericay, Brentwood, Basildon or Chelmsford.
We are looking for the right person and we will pay accordingly. Both days. Every weekend.
